League Rules
Overview
Season Structure
Eight teams compete across a regular season that runs from American Express through Wyndham Championship. Playoffs run the following two weeks (FedEx St. Jude Championship and BMW Championship).
The regular season is split into three segments. Segment standings track points accumulated based on weekly finish — similar to the FedEx Cup standings on the PGA Tour. Points drive tiebreakers, year-end playoff seeding, and end-of-season cash payouts.
Awards are available for segment wins, regular-season total points, weekly performance, and playoff performance.
Scoring
Weekly Points Earned Toward Standings
Weekly points are earned based on a team's finish against the other 7 teams in the league. Level 2 events award 50% more than Level 1; majors (Level 3) award double Level 1 points.
| Weekly finish | L1 points | L2 points | L3 points |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 16 | 24 | 32 |
| 2 | 14 | 21 | 28 |
| 3 | 12 | 18 | 24 |
| 4 | 10 | 15 | 20 |
| 5 | 8 | 12 | 16 |
| 6 | 6 | 9 | 12 |
| 7 | 4 | 6 | 8 |
| 8 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
| Champion bonus | 2 | 3 | 4 |
Champion bonus: a team that owns the tournament-winning golfer receives an additional 2 / 3 / 4 strokes off their adjusted score depending on event level.
Setup
Rosters & Transactions
- Roster size: 14 players.
- Auction: $100 salary cap, top 10 players per team chosen via auction in a single session.
- Snake draft: Following the auction, four rounds of snake draft fill the remaining four roster spots. Draft order is randomized; the draft runs from the end of the auction through Wednesday.
- Trade deadline: Start of the Open Championship.
- Free-agent pickups: Each week up until the tournament starts.
- Waiver claims: Submitted up until Tuesday at 9:00 PM CT each week. Worst-to-first priority based on current segment standings (or YTD total points between segments).
- Instant add/drop: First-come-first-served from Tuesday 9:00 PM CT through tournament start.
- Free-agent pickup deadline: Cannot pick up free agents after the start of Wyndham Championship.
- Drop cooldown: Dropped players are not available to add until the following Tuesday.
Weekly play
Lineups & Scoring
- Starters: Up to 6 players per week.
- Backups: Listed in priority order. A backup is inserted only if a starter does not start the event (withdraws before starting the round).
- Lineup default: If no lineup is updated, the last submitted lineup carries over. If a lineup has fewer than 6 starters, players are taken in roster order top-to-bottom.
Standard Scoring
- Counted scores: Top 3 finishers of the starting 6 count for the week. Total strokes determine the team score.
- Champion bonus: Owner of the tournament-winning golfer gets an additional 2 / 3 / 4 strokes subtracted (L1 / L2 / L3).
- Missed cuts: Counted only if the team has fewer than 3 finishers. The missed-cut player's score equals the team's “blowup” score plus the strokes by which they missed the cut.
- MDF (Made-cut, did-not-finish): When the tour applies MDF, those players are layered in like missed-cuts; actual MC players score “on top of” them.
- WD / DQ: Players who withdraw after starting, or get disqualified, receive no score and take a starting-lineup slot. No backup is inserted.
- Strauman Rule: If fewer than 3 lineup players count toward the score, the missing slots take the field's worst finisher (including MCs) plus 1 stroke.
Weekly Tiebreakers
- 4th player in lineup determines winner.
- If still tied: 5th player.
- If still tied: 6th player.
- If still tied: best individual finisher in lineup.
- If tied through all of the above: tied — points split between teams.
Zurich Classic — Team Format
- Stroke-play team format (pairs of players).
- Lineups submitted as usual — 6 players.
- Players score as their two-man team does in the tournament.
- Each team rostering the winning pair gets +2 bonus points toward season standings.
Postseason
Playoffs
Five teams qualify. Up to three spots go to segment winners; the remaining spots are filled by season-long point producers (wild cards).
- Multiple-segment winners: A team that wins more than one segment doesn't take multiple spots — the unused segment spots become additional wild card entries. Cash for segment wins still flows to the winning team regardless.
Segment Tiebreakers (in order)
- Total points in segment
- Most weekly wins in segment
- Most majors (L3) won in segment
- Most L2 events won in segment
Wild Card Tiebreakers (in order)
- Most weeks won in year
- Most majors (L3) won in year
- Most L2 events won in year
- If still tied: a 5th playoff spot is awarded
Playoff Schedule
Two-week playoffs: FedEx St. Jude Championship followed by BMW Championship.
- Round 1 (FedEx St. Jude Championship): All five playoff teams compete. Points earned add to season-long accumulated points. Top 3 advance. If the round-1 winner doesn't finish in the top 3 by total points, they are added as a 4th entry into the final.
- Round 2 (BMW Championship): The team with the most season-long points (including round 1) starts at −6. Second place starts at −4, third at −2. A 4th wild-card entry, if any, starts at even par. These starting scores are added to the team's top-3 actual scores at the end of the week.
| Round 1 finish | Points awarded |
|---|---|
| 1 | 75 |
| 2 | 50 |
| 3 | 30 |
| 4 | 15 |
| 5 | 1 |
